Please anyone help me to build a tool in displaying TAPE File Properties.

You will, of course, have to interface with your tape management system.

This will already be available to your storage management people, so why do you need to duplicate this.

from the comments received You should have hinted that the request is not of the most reasonable
the chances of people spending/wasting time on unreasonable request are quite slim

but if You insist start looking at the manuals of Your TMS ( Tape Management Systsem )
and see what kind of interface it provides for REXX

Can use DITTO or TAPMAP.

Come to think of it, why would you need this information ?

And you haven't even bothered to specify the information required.

As already said, this information is probably about 99.99% already available from your storage management people, so why reinvent the wheel ???
