Auto Generate VSAM Primary Key

Auto Generate VSAM Primary Key

Hi,
Could you please let me know if there is any option in VSAM to auto-generate the primary key, like we have is DB2?

NO!

db2 at insertion time does quite a bit of work
VSAM ... almost nothing, takes a record and inserts/updates things according to the cluster definition!

so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort
