3.4 SAVE command

Postby Unshriven » Wed Feb 09, 2011 9:23 pm

I am trying to save a list of a certain HLQ in 3.4 which I've done successfully. However, it also saves the catalog attributes. I'm wondering if there is a way I can save a list of datasets in 3.4 but have only the names saved. Any help would be appreciated.

NO!
cheers

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

Hello,

Once saved, change everything other than the name(s) to spaces. . .
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping to not have to go back and edit out the attributes manually but that seems like what I'm going to have to do.

It is ONE command - Change p'¬' ' ' all colx coly

Look up picture strings in Change/Find command.

Alternatively set the left bound to the right of the dataset names and shift the rest of the data to the right as many columns as needed to drop the data off the end of the lines
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.
