TSO XMIT - no space for intermediate PDSU dataset

Does anyone know where the system decides to put the PDSU intermediate unleade PDS dataset that is created when one tries to XMIT a PDS(E) to an XMIT dataset. In our case it's huge, and this leads to spurious abends as the pack the system tries to use has not enough space. A second (or third) attempt is usually OK, so it's just an annoyance for now.
