Shared HFS file systems

Dear All,

Could someone enligten me about the advantage of having a shared HFS file systems across the system(Sysplex). Right Now I am looking at : http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocente ... 001693.htm. Are there anyother source which clearly describes about Advantage, Deploying methdology...etc.

Any advise or Suggestions are highly appreciated.

sharing is not an advantage usually, it is a NEED
sharing has , as everything, pro's and con's
it' s up to You to evaluate the balance

and it does not apply just to HFS, but to every <data collection>

for example ...
disk space savings
no need to synchronize copies of the <same> data
higher access time,
overhead for data integrity
additional hardware
bit more complex to manage
ReadOnly vs ReadWrite
...
