find sort cond from file

Postby ranga_subham » Wed Dec 11, 2013 3:48 pm

Hi,

Can you please tell me how to find on what order a file is sorted if there are multiple values appear in a record. Is it possible with any SORT product? It is easy to sort a file on how one wants it but I wonder how to know on what fields a file is SORTed !!??

Thanks.

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

Hello,

Follow the creation of the file until sequence is learned.

How large is the file? If it is small, simply sort it into the sequence needed.
Hope this helps,
