Hi,

I am a new user to IBM Mainframe... I am looking for any script which can help me find a particular entry (which has been repeated several times in the table) and replace the same with the one I want to amend.

Because I am unaware of the fact if such a tool exists so I have to do the whole task manually.
Prior to me the guy working in the company created a script to enter the data in PPRT and PPPL through a script which run the work faster and completes the job very accurately.

Please note that it is not in Production rather a test environment, where I want to update the table. So I can not use File Aid to do the task.

I am wondering if anyone can pls suggest me on this.

What kind of table? DB2, ISPF, COBOL internal, kitchen?

I think its a COBOL internal table....it shows TABLE MAINTENANCE on the top...
However I am not sure as I am not from the same field of IT... rather I am just a user of the output.

Rather than going back to the IT support I thought it would be a good idea to learn things myself..

Well, new or not, you should be able to post in a more accurate section of the forum.
That being said, it might help if you described your process a bit including some of the commands and data (make it up if it is sensitive) that you use. You may be better off consulting your colleagues and then do the referencing to learn more at a later date - using up that free time that you have generated!

how can You expect people who do not belong to Your organization know about it ?
