NDM Connect Direct

I had a NDM job fail on error SDE17BAI. The error SDE17BAI isn't found in the Connect Direct MSG VSAM file. I logged onto Connect Direct website and found this explanation.

This message means an unsuccessful attempt was made to access a catalog that was locked for recovery.
The job does not have the proper authorization to perform this function.
LOCATE, DADSM, CATALOG, and OBTAIN errors are explained in z/OS DFSMSdfp Advanced Services.


Does anyone know what this error means?

I know that catalogs can be LOCKED using IDCAMS. Usually this is for maintenance (REORG, etc) or perhaps to get a consistent backup. Without a specific SAF PROFILE, you cannot access a locked catalog. If there were return and reason codes shown, you could determine the specific error.

Retry the job later.
