doubt about assign statement ?

01 #ENTITY-STATUS-TYPE (A07)
01 REDEFINE #ENTITY-STATUS-TYPE
02 #ENTITY (A03)
02 #STATUS-IND (A01)
02 #MESSAGE-TYPE (A03)

ASSIGN #STATUS-IND := H'00'
R1. READ DESCENDING INCOMING-MESSAGE-QUEUE BY
ENTITY-STATUS-TYPE = #ENTITY-STATUS-TYPE

Can anyone please tell me what is use of ASSIGN #STATUS-IND := H'00' statement ? What value will come in #ENTITY-STATUS-TYPE key ?

You would have Googled and got the answer!

Well, in H'00' H is Hexadecimal and 00 represents a NULL Character.
