Can You please tell me the sequence of steps I need to follow to transfer a file using SFTP.

the same sequence You would be using for FTP
SFTP just needs a <more complicated> setup

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort
