Actually, that's not possible. All normal output processing to a PDS (with the exception of IEBUPDTE UPDATE=INPLACE or IMASPZAP "zaps") write to the end of a PDS. I, too, would be curious about the contents, if any, of the output member, though if there was already a member BA51MGV1 you could well be looking at the old copy of the member.
