So you can MOVE from a PIC 9(12)V(4) to a PIC 9(12) or redefine a PIC 9(12) over your PIC 9(12)V9(4) as per your last example - probably best to use the first method.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.
