Hi,

Recently i joined in one S/W company as a Mainframes Tester..... But twist is here they won't touch mainframes subject. We are working on Health Insurance domain. So i scared about my future. Is it useful for my future or not?

Is what useful for your future? Your question is not clear. Mainframe technology will be around for years to come - the name may be changed for political reasons, but the application inventories will continue to be supported.

Ok i will tell you clearly,

We are working for Health insurance domain. In that we are not using COBOL,JCL and DB2 and anything related to mainframes... We are testing the applications like Subscriber(patient) and Provider(Doctor/Hospital).

I feel it's like a Data entry job, because we no need to use our subject knowledge....

I suspect that the applications being tested are written in cobol/db2/etc. . .

Your particular work may be running "test scripts" and recording the outcome. Sometmes, the recording is automated so the testers do not have to manually records activity.

If you want to be more involved with the creation/maintenance of the applications, you need to communicate with your manager, but keep in mind that the job was for a tester.
