Hi,

We had a requirement to change an e-mail notification being sent to indiviual email ids to a Group id.
This change has caused an issue of the last byte in the file being truncated.

We had used a sort to format the email file(80 bytes).We had data formatted till 49 bytes, the remaining 31 bytes was not formated. So sort output file had low-values for it. So when we changed this "Email Recepient ID" the 49th byte was getting truncated in the email we received. This was not happening if we do an SMTP of the same file to an Individual id.

This was so wierd!

When we moved a space after the 49th byte the data was not trucated in the email. Please see below the file being emailed and the output email data:

Though the issue is solved I am not able to find a reason for this cause. please could let me know on why this can happen?

I don't think this has anything to do with what SORT is doing. I'm guessing it's some quirk of the mail client having to do with binary zeros. You might have better luck getting an answer to this in a different Forum.
