compare date and month seperately

how do i compare the current month and current year to 2 values in a sort utility
i want to compare 2 digits number with the month of the current date and the 4 digit number with the year of the current date using sort utility.
and i have to omit conditions in which the 2 are not equal

Please post in the correct section! There is a section for DFsort and one for Syncsort. Which product do you use? I am moving this to DFsort but will move it to Syncsort if that is the product that you use.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.
