Language clarification about REXX

hi all,
I have a small doubt regarding REXX whether it is a programming language or scripting language. The reason why i asked this question because recently i used REXX compiler.

Define 'scripting language'.

Rexx is a programming language - whether it is compiled or interpreted. You do not call the original BASIC a scripting language just because it was not compiled.
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.
