I m using VSAM file in CICS program, I defined it in the CEDA section. But still wen i execute it in the CICS region is showing AEIL abend.
Kindly help me out with this issue...

before asking did You care to look at the manual for the meaning of the abend code?

meditate on it for a while and if something is not clear somebody will be glad to explain!

but, remember we do not have access to Your environment,
so You will have to carry on a bit of problem determination on Your own
or ask Your support ( they are the people who usually take care of these abends )

I actually checked what this abend code means in net. It said it is a FILE NOT FOUND error. I already defined my VSAM file it in the CICS region through ceda command . I dont know why it is not recognizing the file.Kindly help.

What happens when you Inquire about the file cemt i fil(fnam)?

Fil(FILE2 ) NOT FOUND

If the file is not found by the system, nothing else can be done with it.

Suggest you work with your cics support and determine where the definition "has" this file. It may be as simple as the name known to cics is not the same as the name known to the program.

I defined it in the CEDA section.

Now you need to talk with the cics support for the system.

They can determine if your definition is as it needs to be for this file and they can see if there is a problem with the code trying to read the file. As a cemt inquire cannot find the file, i suspect the code is not the issue (yet).

Defining a file via CEDA does nothing to the region until the definition is installed. If you did not install the definition, the file won't be found even though you can see it via CEDA.
