We are implementing PCOMM associated printers which are assigned in by the z/OS Telnet LU to printer mapping. A printer is associated successfully
to the PCOMM TN3270 session. Is there any way in CICS to know which printer has been assigned to my session? This is required by the applications so they
can direct print to the assigned printer.
The only solutions I have seen is printers being created through the CICS autoinstall program by generating the printer name from the Netname or
obtained from a table. In this case the autoinstall program sets the printer name in the terminal entry PRINTER field, so the applications can pick this up.
I would think that by now CICS would have had a way to determine what printer had been assigned by Telnet.
