Hi,
How can I check the NDM user id and password, while transferring files from mainframes to Unix?
Thanks,

strange question ...
why would You want to do that
that's one of the reason Your organization pays NDM for.

cheers
enrico
When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

Hello and welcome to the forum,
You Do Not check the id/pswd on the mainframe or unix. This is part of security of both platforms.
If the process tries to use a uid or pwd that is not defined, the process will be terminated.
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

Hi Sch,
Security Exception for our projects, we need to be changed User ID’s and Password for every 6 months.
We could transfer Mainframe files to Uinx server using NDM or FTP steps in our jobs.
I’m able to see the user id and password for FTP in MF control cards but unable to check for NDM.

This is poor security; your site should be using NETRC in your FTP jobs and have tight restrictions on who can read the NETRC data sets.

Hello,
we need to be changed User ID’s and Password for every 6 months.
Yes, this is rather common. . . Or even more frequently.
The practice of having visable userid/password is a major security violation. If the system is ever audited, this will fail a security audit,
Hope this helps,
d.sch.
