Where did you hear the term "pdf cobol"? I've never heard the term, but then I've only been working with COBOL for 37 years so far.

Your choice of word is pretty unfortunate
googling for PDF COBOL just returned zillions of links to PDF documents about cobol
what about looking searching for the site of the company who provides that fashion of cobol?

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

COBOL has been around for more than 50 years. In all that time, it has always been compiled and then the compiled code executed. There are some variations -- for example Open COBOL translates the source into C and then compiles the C code, but as far I know, there has never been a way for "executing the cobol statements differently".

The first issue is that what you show is NOT COBOL. It may be something that gets translated into COBOL (eventually) but it is not COBOL. It sort of looks like some form of RPG but since I do not know RPG and have never worked with it, I cannot say for sure. I can, however, say for absolute certainty that what you showed is not COBOL.
