What is(was) Xephon? It appears to be a magazine that used to get published, and contained excellent tips, code snippets, tune-ups etc. Are there any magazines published today on the lines of Xephon?

Can any Grumpy Old Dinosaur(GOD) tell me about Xephon was all about?

I thought alot of the Xephon stuff found a home at the wonderful cbt http://www.cbttape.org/
If the code hasn't been changed, why is the LKED date today?

A quick search in the internet will answer most of your questions. I wrote several articles for Xephon, which was fun and also payed off. We have several tools that we use from those booklets.
