Network load on Mainframes for subfolder creation

Postby MaheshPalemkota » Tue Aug 12, 2014 9:29 am

Hi Team,

We are setting up Continuous Integration for a Mainframes project. The SCM tool that development team using is Endevor. Currently all the artefacts are being generated in one library (a physical folder). We want to archive the artefacts and a process should get the artefacts from archived subfolders by reading the version number as input parameter. Now my question is if we create subfolder to archive the artefacts with version number in the folder name, what would be the Network load on Mainframes to explore subfolders. We heard that mainframes is not good with subfolders. Is it possible to have artefacts in the subfolders without having any impact on performance

Thank you

Mahesh

Mainframes do not deal with things called folders.
