1) Is it the unified environment for mainframe development on personal computers?
2) Where can I buy this product?
3) Is MF enterprise express oriented to work for a company or private individual?
4) Is there any other Mainframe compiler/emulator that you can recommends to develop COBOL/CICS/DB2/VSAM/JCL in PC under windows 7?

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Hello,

Suggest you ask these questions of MicroFocus - they have the best info. . .

Has your organization formally approved of doing code development and testing offline? Before proceeding further, suggest you make sure this is acceptable to the organization. Many of my clients do not permit offloading of code to work on a pc. They also prohibit downloading of corporate data (such as vsam files and/or db2 tables to some test environment).
Hope this helps,
d.sch.

If you are looking for a cobol compiler for your on use on a pc then there are several options - including free ones. I suggest Googling 'cobol compiler'
The problem I have is that people can explain things quickly but I can only comprehend slowly.

Nic

You could try the (zCOBOL Portable Mainframe COBOL Compiler) which is an open source project

It's a Java based tool, so you need J2SE Runtime (Sun Java) as a pre-requisite

http://www.zcobol.org/

Give it a try, and don't forget to share your experience and thoughts here :)
If I told you, Mossad would have to kill you :)
