Connecting two system z machines via OSA adapter

Postby xyko » Fri Aug 15, 2014 11:44 pm

Hi all,
I'm an old brasilian system programmer that was brought back to business.
I use to work with MVS (now zOS) but now I'm a zVM/zLinux syspro because of my linux skill.
I have two machines (z10 and z114) running zLinux under zVM and I need to link the two internal networks.
I'm guessing if it is possible to connect both machines via OSA adapter end-to-end without using a switch, in order to speed up connection as we can do with a cross cable when connecting two PCs.
Is it possible? If it is, what are the steps in IOCP and zVM I have to do? Is there any manual or better a redbook that can help me?
Thanks in advance.
