Our Forum Rules - Must Read

Postby admin » Sat Jun 09, 2007 3:35 pm

Here are the Forum Rules for our Student Forum:

Please do not post the same question on both our Expert Forum (http://ibmmainframes.com) and Student Forum (http://www.ibmmainframeforum.com). While you may hold memberships on both platforms, duplicate queries are strictly prohibited. Violators will be permanently banned from both forums

Please ensure that topics are posted in the appropriate forums. Read the forum descriptions carefully before submitting. If you're unsure where your topic fits, use the 'Other Mainframe Topics' section. Avoid posting your questions as replies to existing threads—start a new topic for your query.

All publicly displayed messages must be in English only. This includes posts, titles, signatures, and all other forms of public content

Treat others with respect and maintain a positive attitude. Flaming other members or moderators may result in a warning or a ban. Be patient and offer help when possible—this is a volunteer-driven forum. If your questions are answered, please take a moment to thank those who helped you.

Do not request help via private messages (PM) or emails. Post all your queries on the forum itself. If we receive any complaints from other members or moderators, your account will be banned.

All non-MAINFRAME links must be enclosed in code tags — including job opening links (e.g.,

Code: Select all

Link placed inside here
). Do not post links to other mainframe-related sites or forums, except ibm.com and ibmmainframes.com.

Make your topic title meaningful and descriptive. Do not use words like 'Urgent', 'Please', 'Help!', or 'Important' in the subject line. Avoid using the forum name as your topic title. In short, provide as much relevant information as possible—while keeping your post concise and to the point.

YYou may not include links advertising other forums in your signature. Do not use our forums for any commercial purposes, or to distribute advertising, or solicit funds, goods, or services without prior approval from the site administrator. Linking to your personal blog is permitted in your signature only if you have more than 100 posts.

Do not use ALL CAPS, large text sizes, or excessive question marks (?) or exclamation points (!), as this is considered shouting and is discouraged

Make sure to use the 'Search' function before posting to avoid duplicate or repeated topics..

You must not use our forums to post, attach, or link to any content that is knowingly false, defamatory, inaccurate, sexually explicit, abusive, harassing, or threatening. Content must not contain viruses or other harmful elements, infringe on copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, privacy or publicity rights, or otherwise violate any applicable laws. If you're unsure about posting materials downloaded from other sites, please consult a moderator first.

Do not use images, avatars, or signatures that are under copyright unless you clearly state the copyright holder and confirm that you have permission to use the image for social purposes.

Avoid using [img] links to images hosted on slow or unreliable servers, such as Lycos.
